Taboola offers targeting by content type, which means you are able to target your campaigns to websites or web pages about specific content types. These content types range from Business to Technology to Food & Dining. If you chose a content type to target, it means your campaign items will only appear on websites or web pages about that content type.
With this, you will be able to only show your campaign items where they have the best performance or where users may be the most interested in your campaign items. For example, you can run your auto insurance campaign on web pages that have content about autos.
How to Set Up Content Type Targeting
You are not able to set up content type targeting in Backstage - but don’t worry! Your Account Manager or email@example.com can set this up for you.
To set up content type targeting, make sure to send them the following information:
- The campaign name and ID of the campaign you’d like to update. If you haven’t created a campaign yet, you can learn how to create a new campaign here.
- The content type(s) you’d like to target in your campaign. You can choose from the following:
- Arts and Entertainment
- Family and Parenting
- Food and Drink
- Health and Fitness
- Hobbies and Interests
- Home and Garden
- Law, Government and Politics
- Personal Finance
- Real Estate
- Religion and Spirituality
- Style and Fashion
- Technology and Computing
You may need to set your CPC to be approximately 30% - 50% higher than the CPC in your run of network campaign(s). This ensures your campaign sees the desired volume as you are targeting a smaller group of users.
