If you are using third-party apps, such as Cash on Delivery (COD) apps or Upsell and Cross-sell apps on Shopify, you may encounter situations where some events are not triggered by the Taboola Pixel for Shopify.
This issue can arise because some COD apps bypass Shopify’s standard checkout process. As a result, the Shopify event listener may not be activated, preventing the Taboola Pixel from sending the necessary event data back to Taboola.
See step-by-step guides for some of the apps below:
Releasit COD Form & Upsells
If you use Releasit COD Form & Upcells, you can set up the start_checkout and make_purchase events directly in their settings. Here’s how you can do it:
1. Navigate to Settings & Integrations in the app.
2. Click on Pixels
3. Select Add item
4. Choose Taboola Tag from the Type dropdown.
5. Enter your Account ID in the Tag ID section.
6. Click the Confirm button
7. Finally, click Save to apply the settings
By following these steps, you should be able to ensure that the Taboola Pixel tracks the start_checkout and make_purchase events accurately, even when using third-party checkout processes or apps.
✅ If the third-party app you are using does not provide a method to implement pixels, or if you’re encountering any other issues, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at support@taboola.com. We’re here to help ensure your tracking is set up correctly.
