As part of the global COVID-19 pandemic, Taboola has a responsibility to our industry, to the open web, and to readers worldwide to ensure our ad content is trustworthy and that we are preventing the spread of misinformation about the Coronavirus. Services/Information (Investment, Online Courses, Entertainment etc.)
✓ Campaigns focusing on delivery services are allowed (“The Safe Way to Get Your Order During the Corona crisis”, “These Services Deliver Products to your Home”, “No-contact Delivery” etc.)
✓ Titles can mention coronavirus or lockdown if they are written in a neutral or positive manner ("Best Movies to Watch During Lockdown", "Important Information for Employees During Lockdown" etc.)
✓ Best practices campaigns are allowed (“How to Keep Hygiene” “Best Way to Wash your Hands”, “How to Work From home”)
✓ Using the fact that people are staying home as a narrative (including mentioning the lockdown) is allowed
✓ Ads of online courses/services such as learning english from home, educational courses for kids, etc. are allowed
✓ Useful information campaigns during the Corona crisis:
✓ Arbitrage content concerning celebrities is allowed (can be safe sensitive) so long as it doesn’t focus on their health conditions (“See how Tom Hanks Gets Is Recovering from Coronavirus”, “Does X have corona”, “Why is X in isolation?”); content focused on celebrities’ lives during lockdown is allowed.
✓ Financial products (loans, investment advice, market analysis etc) are allowed to focus on the economic crisis due to COVID-19 if no fool-proof promises are made (e.g. financial freedom, “become very quickly a successful CEO from home, etc.)
✓ Discussion forums are allowed if they come through top-tier/well-known advertisers.
✓ Fundraising content is allowed if promoted by known organisations (e.g. WHO).
✓ Content focusing on politics during COVID-19 is allowed if it comes through well-known publishers or organizations.
✗ May not use coronavirus related images or titles, if they are just for click baits and have no relation to the titles or the content on the landing page, for example:
✗ No sensationalized titles or conspiracy theories that may cause panic or fear, e.g. “The Shortage of Sanitizers Is Imminent”, “The End of the World is Near”, “The Untold Truths About COVID-19” etc.)
✗ No images of coronavirus or of sick people (E.g. people hospitalised, X-rays, etc.) in creatives.
✗ No ads claiming to boost your immune system
✗ Ads must not be directed to sensitive groups (elderly, sick people etc.)
✗ Must not make claims that might lead to a mistaken diagnosis (not invite consumers to auto-diagnose themselves).
✗ Must not falsely claim that a product or practice is able to prevent, cure or reverse the effects of coronavirus
Products (Hand Sanitizers and Health Related Products):
✓ Ads of premium brands are allowed so long as they don’t use titles and images which can cause a sense of fear or urgency
✓ Facemasks are allowed only by premium/top brands advertising (P&G, Johnson & Johnson etc.) .
✓ Non-premium health accessories related to COVID-19 will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis
